We are committed to supporting our people and helping progress their careers during their time with us. As well as training and development opportunities, team members who stay in a role for two years receive automatic salary increases.

Training and professional qualifications

At Think Ahead there is an opportunity to apply for funding for professional qualifications and training courses. We want to help you develop the technical expertise to excel in your role, and to develop your career as a whole.


We also provide all staff training, including sessions on project management, diversity and inclusion, mental health first aid and much more.  

Learning from the other areas of the organisation

We are keen that our staff gain a broad understanding of the social work sector and the important work that our participants are doing. This includes the opportunity to shadow our trainee social workers discussing their work at case consultation meetings, going to the Think Ahead summer institute, attending social work teaching days and much more.


Staff can also train to be an assessor for our flagship recruitment programme and attending assessment centres of potential mental health social workers.
